Our birth assistants (also called midwife's assistants) support midwives, both CPMs and CNMs, in homebirth settings. We
draw on professional training, knowledge, and experience to performs duties such as assessing fetal heart tones, checking maternal blood pressure, charting, managing equipment, keeping birth spaces clean and organized, providing assistance in emergency situations, and many other duties. At every step, we assist your chosen birth attendant in helping you have a
safe, healthy, and supported birth.

Our trained birth assistants attend to midwives and their clients in homebirth settings. A birth assistant serves a role different from that of the doula: as birth/midwife assistants, our primary duty is to support the midwife as she supports you. While our arrangements vary, most commonly we serve at the request of the midwife and are employed through her.
