Placenta encapsulation is the most common form of placental ingestion. The placenta is prepared using one of two methods: the standard method, or the Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) method. In either case, the placenta is dehydrated and then turned into a powder, which is put into gelatin or vegetable-based capsules for oral ingestion. The encapsulated placenta is shelf-stable and should be stored away from heat and light. For longer-term storage, we highly recommend storing your encapsulated placenta in the freezer, where it can be stored indefinitely.
