Service Description

Our doulas provide hands-on support in the days and weeks leading up to the birth to help new families find solid footing before the arrival of a new baby. Our daytime antenatal support options allow for doulas to serve in both a teaching and support role, to help new families prepare for baby, practice strong self-care, navigate pregnancy and personal health needs, and make plans for the postpartum period. During daytime antenatal support hours, our doulas offer the following services: * Assistance with personal care and self-care measures * Education on caring for and feeding your new baby/babies * Support adjusting to new roles * Household organizational support, such as preparing occasional light snacks, helping with baby laundry, and preparing the nursery * Limited text and email support throughout the early months of parenthood * Referrals as needed to community or other resources Services are provided in the client's home, unless otherwise agreed in writing in advance. There is no travel fee for home locations within 25 miles of the Family Ways office [11000 Rosemont Drive, Rockville, MD 20852]. Travel fees are incurred when doulas travel to client locations outside this 25-mile radius,
