Birth & Postpartum Doula
My journey into birth work began with the birth of my two daughters -- these very different experiences inspired me to support others during their prenatal, birth, and postpartum journeys. After a traumatic first pregnancy and significant postpartum depression, during my second pregnancy I hired a doula who helped me navigate my struggles and fears and manage my postpartum depression.
After having such a positive experience with my own doula, and wanting to give back to other new families, I completed my education as a fertility, birth, and postpartum doula with Bebo Mia and also became certified as a childbirth educator. My role is to help provide important emotional, physical, and spiritual preparation for birth and after birth. I embrace your vision for birth and support you and your new baby emotional and physical health after birth. Eliminating fear and replacing it with confidence and joy is my goal for every birther and their support team.
In addition to my role as a birth worker, I’m a mother of two beautiful girls and we love to travel when I’m not working. I’m also a dance teacher: I teach adult classes and have a children’s dance team called “Footloose.”I love to incorporate dance during the stages of birth and postpartum. Prior to becoming a doula, I have been a Certified Nursing Assistant since 2009. I am CPR/First Aide/AED certified for infants, adolescents and adults.
