Birth & Postpartum Doula | Sibling Doula
I have long been fascinated by the life journey and the link between family generations as they connect through major life transitions. Life is about community, and birth is a huge reflection of that. The experience of welcoming new life through birth offers an opportunity for deep, meaningful interpersonal connection far beyond that which we experience in most aspects of life. Birth represents such an intense moment of connection for the birthing person --touching the baby, their partner, and everyone surrounding them.
My goal as your doula is to help you find trust: in me, in yourself, in your family, and in your community. Now more than ever we are striving for human connection, and the communal nature of birth allows trust to flourish so that mutual connection can blossom. As your trust deepens and your confidence grows, we can work together toward a more supported and more connected experience, no matter which path your birth and postpartum journey takes.
My work is focused on empowering you and your intuition, because no one knows your body and your birth better than you. By cultivating a safe energy, I aspire to make sure you do not feel alone during this experience but connected and supported by everyone who you have welcomed into this journey with you. Your birthing time is such an important moment, because when you have the deep connection with people around you, you also dig deep within yourself to listen, respond, and BE in your body, mind and spirit.
In addition to my training through DONA International and my work with birthing and postpartum families, I have years of experience in collaborative support environments. I have studied Community Advocacy and Social Policy, and have several credits toward my pilot’s license; I am also a pitbull mommy and a dog-lover. I am excited to support your family’s experience, and I am deeply humbled by the confidence and trust inherent in these powerful transitional moments.
