Birth & Postpartum Doula
I am a DONA-trained birth and postpartum doula, with a special passion for vaginal birth after cesarean (VBAC) and unmedicated births. I want to help families find their voice and be active participants in their birth choices. As parents, we have to start advocating for our families during pregnancy. Though birth is unpredictable, we can take fear out of the birth process by educating ourselves about our many options and choices.
I was called to birth work after becoming a parent to my two boys. I felt disempowered after my first birth, like I was sitting on the sidelines and letting my care providers push me into choices I was not comfortable with. When I knew I was pregnant with my second son, I changed my attitude, switched care providers, took Bradley Method classes, and hired a doula to help me advocate for myself. With the support and guidance of my doula, I had an empowered birth that showed me how strong a woman can be. I want to share that empowering experience with every family that I work with!
I strive to help families feel supported through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. No matter which choices you make when it comes to your birth, my role is to support and guide you through the process. When a family is well supported and informed, their birth outcomes and perceptions of the birth are better and they are more satisfied, and overall better prepared for their family journey to come.
